Hints on Downloading and Using PowerPoint
Presentations
Downloading
a PowerPoint Presentation to Your System
Typically, Netscape gives a one-step process to downloading
a PowerPoint presentation. Click on the file and it will ask you
where to save it.
With Internet Explorer:
- Right-click on the filename you wish to save
- Choose "Save Target As"
- In Save As window, accept the default directory and file name information,
or enter in a different location and name in the dialog box
- Click on "Save"
- You can then view the presentation from a PowerPoint Viewer,
or from the PowerPoint application.
If your browser starts displaying the presentation automatically, rather than
downloading, we don't want to rely on the response of Internet when viewing so
still save it:
- Click on "File"
- Click on "Save As"
- You can then view the presentation from a PowerPoint Viewer,
or from the PowerPoint application.
Printing
a PowerPoint Presentation
Of course, there are many ways to print PowerPoint presentations,
but we thought that we'd give you our recommendation of what works
best:
- Open the desired PowerPoint presentation
- Click on "File"
- Click on "Print"
- Under the "Print what" option, choose "Handouts
(6 slides per page)"
- If printing to a non-colour printer, select "Pure black
& white"
- Click on "Frame slides"
- Click on "OK"
